PISTOL PRIMERS
Center fire cartridges are often the choice of the military for their thicker casings that are able to withstand rougher handling without damage, and safer to handle. You can identify a centerfire primer by the metal cup containing a primary explosive inserted into a recessed center at the base of the cartridge. The firing pin of the firearm crushes the explosive between the cup and the anvil.
